Government Outreach is an annual Summit for high school students in Northwest/Central Pennsylvania. The program hosts area students at three local colleges in order to provide them with the opportunity to be involved in the process of government, and to discuss current and national issues with the event’s speakers.

As an advocate for education and greater community engagement, Congressman Glenn Thompson participates every year as a main speaker.

With no government funding, the program is paid for with support from corporate sponsors who want to invest in the next generation’s leaders and local community.

What Teachers Are Saying

The program is excellent and a great benefit to the kids. The speakers were amazing.

Thank you for providing this wonderful experience for my students – it makes government more personal.

More and more students need to experience government in action and this program enables students to do just that.

This is an outstanding opportunity for high school students to interact with a congressman and understand policy debates and current issues.
